Man Dead After Altercation Inside Horn Lake Walmart

HORN LAKE, Miss. — A late-night altercation inside the Walmart Supercenter on Goodman Road left one man dead Sunday, according to Horn Lake police.

Officers were called to the store at about 10:35 p.m. Sept. 7, where they found 27-year-old Ledarius Clayton lying in one of the main aisles with an apparent stab wound to his abdomen. Emergency medical crews rushed Clayton to Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said surveillance video showed Clayton entering Walmart and walking directly to a specific employee before starting a physical altercation. During the fight, Clayton sustained the fatal injury.

Police detained the Walmart employee involved, but no charges have been filed as the investigation continues. Authorities said the incident was isolated and that no other employees or customers were in danger.

Horn Lake investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing store security footage. Police said the case remains active.
