LK Creations said it sold out of more than 210 items in four hours after the Sunset on the Square event was canceled at the last minute because of weather.
The business said all of its dough had already been mixed and prepped when the cancellation came, so staff baked the products rather than let them go to waste. LK Creations said the outpouring of support prevented what could have been a devastating day for the small business.
LK Creations thanked customers, the DeSoto County community and the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce for the response. The business said the sales and shared posts helped it recover from the unexpected cancellation.
The bakery said it looks forward to the final Sunset on the Square concert of the season next week and that customers can preorder cookies, cookie cakes, cakes, cupcakes and custom desserts throughout the week.
LK Creations said it does not take the community’s support for granted and credited local customers with helping the business grow.
