Joint Task Force efforts lead to arrest of registered sex offender
A man was being held at 201 Poplar in Memphis on a hold for DeSoto County after his arrest on charges of rape and sexual battery.
Terry Ketchum is a registered sex offender and his arrest came about as part of a Joint Task Force between the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office, DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team, Olive Branch and Memphis police departments.
The arrest of Ketchum, age 43, is the second arrest of the Joint Task Force formed by District Attorney Matthew Barton. Ketchum was “secretly indicted,” which means his prosecution can be expedited sooner than before.
Jail information from Shelby County indicated Ketchum was being held there on a hold for return to DeSoto County to face the rape and sexual battery charges.
