The Hernando Water Tower 10K and Half Marathon have been canceled because of inclement weather, the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce announced. The organization said the safety of runners, volunteers and guests was its highest priority.
Runners may still pick up their race shirts and goody bags Friday, Oct. 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Landing at Delta Landing, or Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Hernando City Hall on the side facing Elm Street.
Entry fees are non-refundable, according to the announcement. The Chamber said registrations and participants’ generosity help provide free, age-appropriate books to young children in the community.
