Horn Lake radiates holiday spirit with rescheduled festivities
By Bailee Harris
While Saturday’s inclement weather may have cast a temporary shadow on Horn Lake’s Christmas parade and tree lighting, the city persisted. The Christmas tree lighting was rescheduled for Tuesday evening, allowing locals to take part in this family-fun event. Some participants still had their floats on display for families to visit and collect candy.
The park offered activities for families to enjoy, including kids’ crafts as well as letters to and pictures with Santa. A concession stand was open for guests to purchase food and drinks, such as hot cocoa and cookies. Santa arrived on a Horn Lake Fire Department firetruck, and the excitement from the crowd was evident. This event allowed all who attended to create cherished memories with their families this holiday season.
To keep the holiday cheer going, Horn Lake has multiple Toys for Tots locations as an opportunity to give. The Horn Lake Chamber of Commerce, M R Dye Public Library, and the Horn Lake Parks and Recreation are proud drop off locations for Toys for Tots. The boxes need to be filled with new, unwrapped toys for children in need.
