Holly Springs Man Charged with Two Counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — A 30-year-old Holly Springs man is being held in the Marshall County jail on two counts of attempted second degree murder in connection with a Sept. 30 shooting that left one man in critical condition.

Tracey Wilborn, 30, of Holly Springs, was taken into custody Oct. 1 by officers with the Holly Springs Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, according to a release from law enforcement.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred Sept. 30 in Holly Springs. One man was left in critical condition, the release states. Local reports indicate the shooting happened in the 180 block of West Woodard Avenue, where a second man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Holly Springs Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force worked the case as a joint investigation.

Wilborn was processed and transported to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, where he is being held pending bond. Bond has been set at $100,000 for each charge.

Authorities say the case remains an active and ongoing investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
