Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi President, Keith Fulcher, recently participated in the CFLeads Forum held earlier in April in Indianapolis, Indiana. This biennial event brought together leaders from community foundations across the country to explore strategies for strengthening their roles in civic leadership and community change.

The 2025 CFLeads Forum focused on timely and impactful topics such as racial equity, economic mobility, and community safety. These themes closely align with the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi’s mission “Connecting People Who Care With Causes That Matter.”

“Attending the CFLeads Forum was an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with fellow community foundation leaders and gain insights into innovative strategies that can be applied here in Northwest Mississippi,” said Fulcher. “Sessions on amplifying community voice and influencing public policy were especially relevant as we continue to deepen our impact across the region.”

Since Fulcher assumed leadership in 2020, the Foundation has expanded its reach through strategic initiatives and partnerships. The organization now manages more than $50 million in total assets across 300 donor-established funds and, over its 20+ year history, has granted over $48 million to nonprofits and charitable causes. Its work continues to focus on education, health, children and youth across its 11-county service area.

One of the Community Foundation’s hallmark efforts, the Maddox Nonprofit & Volunteer Resource Hub, reflects the spirit of community leadership emphasized at the CFLeads Forum. The Hub serves as a central resource for connecting local nonprofits and volunteers to tools, training, and opportunities that strengthen community resilience.
