Entergy assists House of Grace with donation

The House of Grace domestic violence shelter in DeSoto County recently received a $2,000 donation from Entergy Mississippi.

The House of Grace has operated a shelter for over 20 years in North Mississippi. It is a Christ-centered ministry educating and serving the needs of domestic violence victims and their children.

According to Entergy spokesman Robert Johnston, “Entergy has supported house of Grace through our grant allocation program in the past, so we are well aware of what they do for displaced families in DeSoto County area. Management came to us with some extra funds to allocate to the community at year end and we were allowed locally to make a decision on how to use it.”

Johnston said Entergy also learned that the shelter recently took on more residents during the holiday season.

“House of Grace always has additional burdens around the holidays,” Johnston said. “When we heard they had six displaced children, we knew we had to help. Entergy is glad to be able to offer additional assistance in DeSoto County this year.”
