Desoto County sheriffs office issues warning about someone impersonating them with false info about warrants

From the Desoto County sheriffs department:

***ALERT***

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department and they ask for money, THAT IS NOT US! ❌💰🚫

We’ve recently had several complaints from people who were called and told there was an active warrant on them, which was not true.

We would never ask for money or personal information over the phone.

Please be cautious about giving anyone personal information and do not send anyone money.
