DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Issues Scam Warning

DeSoto County, Miss. – The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to be on alert for a phone scam targeting the community.

Officials say several citizens have reported receiving calls from individuals claiming to represent the Sheriff’s Office and demanding money. Authorities stress these calls are fraudulent and not connected to law enforcement.

“The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office will never ask for money or personal information over the phone,” the department stated. “If you receive such a call, hang up immediately and report it.”

Deputies are reminding the public not to provide financial details or personal information to unknown callers. Residents are encouraged to share this warning with friends and family members who may not use social media.
