DeSoto Civic Garden Club celebrates Spirit of Christmas

Late fall was a busy time for DeSoto Civic Garden Club’s Philanthropy  committee members as they gathered food at Aldi’s in Southaven for the Palmer Home for Children’s annual holiday meal.

The location for Palmer Home is near Hernando and is composed of eight cottages whereby each received a ham, turkey, and gift cards for purchase for additional food items.

Another Philanthropy project completed in December by the DeSoto Civic Garden Club consisted of Christmas gifts to the Mississippi State Hospital at Whitfield.

Each year, this has become an annual Christmas tradition by the club to bring extra cheer to hospital residents by providing packages full of a variety of useful personal items.

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc., Hills and Delta District.
