CVB names Mendenhall new Executive Director

July 11, 2025 – The DeSoto County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors has announced Debbie Mendenhall as the Bureau’s new Executive Director. Mendenhall will oversee all facets of the DeSoto County Convention & Visitors Bureau, which includes Landers Center and Tourism.

“I believe the years I’ve spent building teams and companies from the ground up will translate well into my new role as the DeSoto County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Executive Director,” Mendenhall said. “All of us here are unified in thought and direction, and I look forward to collaborating with tenured colleagues to ensure this extremely valuable community asset is as successful and profitable as it can possibly be. The future is bright and I could not be more excited to return to my roots here in DeSoto County.”

The Hernando native honed her executive management skills in Canada and Texas with Starrex International, Ltd., and National Asset Direct, Inc., working with BlackRock-based hedge funds and real estate ventures. Debbie is also an entrepreneur and serves as a director or partner for various small startups.

“As a native of DeSoto County, Debbie understands what makes us special,” said DeSoto County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board President Amelia Lovorn. “She brings a strong background in leadership and strategic planning – skills that are essential as we continue to grow DeSoto County’s presence as a vibrant destination. She also contributes a fresh perspective and we are confident she will lead our organization with new innovations and purpose.”
