California man hurt as semi-trucks collide on I-269

Mar 25, 2025 – The Mississippi Highway Patrol Tuesday continued its investigation of an early morning accident involving two semi-trailer trucks on a DeSoto County interstate.  

Troopers were called shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday when a 2020 Freightliner, driven by Gill Sagar Singh, age 27 of Bakersfield, California was traveling south on I-269 when it collided with the rear of a 2018 Freightliner driven by Fenel Bernard, age 44 of Orlando, Florida, also traveling south on I-269.

A passenger in the 2020 Freightliner, Gill S. Singh, age 60 of Bakersfield, California, received moderate injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital. 

The crash kept southbound lanes of the interstate blocked to through traffic for several hours.
