Active shooter workshop planned in Southaven
Mar 20, 2025- The Southaven Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Southaven Police Department, has announced an Active Shooter Workshop has been scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 8 a.m.
The workshop will be held at the Landers Center in Southaven. This event aims to equip business professionals and individuals with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively to an active shooter situation.
“We believe that proactive education and preparedness are key components in enhancing community safety,” said Southaven Police Chief Brent Vickers. “By partnering with local organizations and community leaders, we are committed to empowering residents with the necessary tools to protect themselves and others during a crisis.”
The workshop will cover a range of topics, including:
- Identifying potential threats and suspicious behavior
- Developing an emergency action plan
- Implementing effective communication strategies
- Understanding law enforcement response procedures
