Accused murderer of rapper Young Dolph arrested in Southaven

June 25 – A man believed to be involved in the shooting death of Memphis rapper Young Dolph was arrested on traffic violations in Southaven this past weekend.
As reported by WMC-TV, Hernandez Govan was arrested by Southaven Police with charges being driving a vehicle with an improperly mounted license tag and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Govan also had outstanding charges with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department of stalking, harassing or making threats. He bonded out of jail on Monday, June 24.
Rapper Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton, Jr., was shot and killed at a Memphis bakery in November 2021. Govan was arrested in November 2022 and was awaiting trial in September on first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. He is charged with planning the shooting death of the musician.
