The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said a local business reported a caller who identified himself as “Detective Jon Summerville” and claimed there was a 350-page indictment; the office posted the number used, 662-699-1100.

The Panola County Sheriff’s Office said a Southwestern Advantage representative visited the office to introduce himself and will be in the county offering educational and leadership products.

The Desoto County Dream Center said Homer Skelton Auto Group will match every donation and 5K registration during Matching Week, May 29-June 5. Registration for the DC Race 5K & Kids Fun Run at Silo Square MS on Sept. 12, 2026, will open during that period.

Organizers said a quarterly luncheon sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto will be held May 20 with keynote speakers Dr. Violiza Inoa and Dr. Neha Kumar. Seats are limited and organizers urged attendees to register.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Board of Aldermen congratulated local pitmaster Heath Riles after he won back-to-back grand champion titles at Memphis in May, the city said.

The Olive Branch Police Department said it will hold its 19th annual Camp BUILD for grades 2-8 and Camp SHAPE for grades 9-12 from June 1 to June 26. Applications are due May 29 and must be notarized before submission.

DeSoto County said two local spots are nominees in the Best of Mississippi Travel Awards. Voting ends June 15 and residents can vote online.

Organizers are urging prospective and current members to register for Chamber 101 on May 21, saying the session will cover membership benefits, resources and networking opportunities.

The Olive Branch Police Department is hosting its 19th annual summer camps, featuring Camp B.U.I.L.D. for grades 2-8 and Camp S.H.A.P.E. for grades 9-12. Both camps are free and run from June 1 to June 26.
