Olive Branch annexation petition approved 

The growing city of Olive Branch is now growing a little more, at the request of the property owner.  

Aldermen Tuesday night voted to approve the annexation of about 183 acres of land on Center Hill Road, located south of Goodman Road. The landowner came to the city and requested the annexation, according to a city news release on Thursday, June 8.  The acreage is undeveloped. 

With the board approval, a petition will be filed in DeSoto County Chancery Court.

“This is another example of land owners wanting to be a part of The City of Olive Branch due to the amenities we offer,” said Mayor Ken Adams. “We will continue to work to make Olive Branch one of the best cities to live, work, worship and play.”

At 60 square miles, Olive Branch is the second-largest city by area in Mississippi. The area under the annexation petition is shown in the following map:
