  • DeSoto Central leading scorers vs. Hernando: Donovan Griffin 17, Dorian Whitley 17. Alex Pete’s layup with 3.1 seconds remaining were the winning points for DeSoto Central.  Griffin was named game’s MVP.
  • Hernando leading scorers vs. DeSoto Central: Carl Malone 15, Josh Humes 12.  
  • Madison-Ridgeland leading scorer vs. Gentry: Josh Hubbard 33, named game’s MVP.

SPORTS ETC.:

A joint event Friday afternoon at DeSoto Central High School had Micah Benson sign with East Central Community College for women’s soccer and Kennedy Smith sign with Northwest Mississippi Community College for volleyball.  

Soccer matches with Center Hill vs. Lewisburg, and DeSoto Central vs. Olive Branch were postponed. The DeSoto Central-Olive Branch contests were rescheduled to Jan. 6.
