LL Flooring, formerly known as Lumber Liquidators, this week announced it was filing for bankruptcy and closing its approximately 400 stores, including one in Horn Lake.

The company also has locations in Gulfport, Jackson and Hattiesburg in Mississippi, and a store is located in Memphis.

According to a report on the Fox Business website,  LL Flooring filed for relief under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware in early August, with the company saying it secured $130 million in debtor-in-possession financing from an existing bank group led by Bank of America. Information about the filing is found on the Securities and Exchange Commission website.

LL Flooring had tried to find a buyer during the bankruptcy proceedings but no buyers were found, so it decided instead to close.  The company had been in business for about 30 years.

Closing sales at all stores are now underway with the closing process to be complete within 12 weeks. LL Flooring is no longer offering installations but those that have been ordered are expected to be completed within 30 days.

Lumber Liquidators changed its name to LL Flooring three years ago. Tom Sullivan founded the company in 1994.

The Horn Lake LL Flooring is located at 6550 Interstate Boulevard, near Delta Technical College.
