Primary election day

Saturday, Aug. 2 at 12 noon is the deadline day for in-person voting by absentee ballot ahead of the Aug. 5 primary election.

The Republican primary winner will be challenged by Democrat Chris Hanna in the November general election.

Hall was unchallenged by the Democrats in the November 2023 House general election.

The senator said he will continue to function actively in the office through the special election and the official end of his term.

The general election winner will essentially be serving out two years of a four-year term and would need to run for re-election again in 2027.
