Football playoff pairings announced

Horn Lake, DeSoto Central, Lewisburg, and Lake Cormorant reach playoff football status.

Individual champion Mundy led the Conquistadors to a fourth place team finish.

Horn Lake will play its first home playoff game since its championship season in 2018.

Six players on the roster are from DeSoto County schools.

Hernando had the best finish for a DeSoto County team, taking sixth place with a team score of 653.

Honorees include one state champion from DeSoto Central.

Olive Branch freshman quarterback Thomas Heffner scored a pair of touchdowns in the victory.

Madison Central hosted the tournament at the Patrick Farms course.

Lewisburg and Kaia Robinson led county swimmers at the state meet.

Of the 16,000 students now considered semifinalists, NMSP said about 15,000 of that number are expected to become finalists for the scholarships.
