The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office investigated and prosecuted the case with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Tuggle praised his investigators, noting the emotional toll such cases take on law enforcement.

This is an ongoing investigation.

The FBI investigated the case and Assistant U.S. Attorney Parker King prosecuted the case.

Thursday’s arrest came as part of an investigation by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division.

The investigation began when one former student reported the abuse to a counselor.

He has since bonded out of the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
