Coaching legend Bibbs passes away

A basketball coach whose impact on the game was so great they named a gymnasium after him, has passed away.

Region 1-6A tournaments start next week in Olive Branch.

The meeting marked the last regular season home games in the current Hernando gym.

Tuesday’s basketball meeting with the Lake Cormorant Gators at Olive Branch was a pairing between two top teams in Region 1-6A.

The Mud Monsters are an expansion team of the league and will play its home games at Trustmark Park in Pearl.

Kelly led Hernando with 26 points, 11 players scored for DeSoto Central boys in their win.
