City Park in Olive Branch stayed closed Wednesday while city crews removed limbs and cleared trails, Mayor Ken Adams said.

Olive Branch’s City Park remained closed Thursday while city crews removed limbs to make walking trails and park amenities safe, Mayor Ken Adams said in an update from Olive Branch Parks and Recreation.

Organizers said participating local retailers will offer special deals from July 9 to 11 and urged shoppers to visit stores for what they called the season’s top sale.

The Southaven Chamber will host a speed-networking breakfast called B2B AM on Wednesday, July 8, at Olive Garden, organizers said. Chick-fil-A Southaven is sponsoring the breakfast.

Cristan Engelke completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management, the Southaven Chamber said. The chamber credited her four-year commitment with strengthening her leadership and benefiting members.

Mayor Ken Adams said July 6 that the city park will stay closed while Public Works crews remove remaining storm debris.

The City of Olive Branch announced that Mayor Ken Adams and the Board of Aldermen have welcomed Andrew Hockensmith to the city’s planning department as assistant director of planning.

Water service in the area of 8400 Polk Lane was interrupted after a contractor struck a water main, affecting several residential and industrial customers, Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams said.
