Spartan Composites expands operations to Saltillo

JACKSON, Miss. — Spartan Composites, a manufacturer of advanced composite access matting, is establishing new operations in Saltillo, bringing a $49 million investment and 45 new jobs to Lee County.

The company produces high‑performance composite matting used in the infrastructure, oil and gas, defense and utility sectors. Its new Mississippi facility will expand production capacity, strengthen supply chain resiliency and position Spartan Composites to better serve customers across North America and international markets.

The Mississippi Development Authority is supporting the project with assistance for road improvements and incentives through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive (MFLEX) program. Lee County and the Tennessee Valley Authority also are providing support.

Operations are expected to begin in September 2027, with hiring slated for completion by December 2027.
