Sen. Hyde-Smith issues Memorial Day message

U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) issued the following statement in advance of American’s commemoration of Memorial Day to honor all those who have served and died on behalf of our nation:

“Each May, I am inspired by the heartfelt outpouring of support expressed by Mississippians for those men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and defend the country we are proud to call home.

“The freedoms and liberties enjoyed by the American people came at a high price, and those who died for us deserve to be honored every day.

“I applaud all Mississippians of every age who will take time this Memorial Day to honor our lost heroes and, importantly commit to support their loved ones who have also suffered a great loss.

“As your United States Senator, I also remain dedicated to serving our veterans and to ensuring that those who join our Armed Forces will be the best equipped and best trained in the world.”
