Police Respond to Trespassing Incident Leading to Burglary Arrest in Booneville

BOONEVILLE, MS — According to Booneville Mississippi Police Department, all individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. On June 3, 2024, officers from the Patrol Division were dispatched to College Street following reports of a trespassing incident. Upon arrival, officers identified and detained Douglas Paul King, 47, of Booneville, MS, who had previously been banned from the location.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that Mr. King not only trespassed but also committed burglary at the premises. The case was subsequently transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division for further handling.

Mr. King has been arrested and faces charges including one felony count of burglary of a dwelling and one felony count of malicious mischief due to property damage caused during the incident. His bond has been set at $50,000.00. The case is scheduled to be presented to the Prentiss County grand jury.
