Panola County woman found shot to death; suspect now arrested

Aug. 19, 2025 – A 41-year-old Panola County woman was found shot to death inside a wrecked pickup truck last month, and authorities have now made an arrest in connection with her killing.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) confirmed that Amanda Liston of Panola County died from gunshot wounds after her 2015 Ford F-150 left the roadway and struck a tree on state Highway 3. Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol initially responded to the July 26 crash and discovered Liston with fatal injuries.

Investigators said it remains unclear whether the crash occurred before or after the shooting.
