NMPHC announces $4.7 Million expansion to strengthen healthcare services in northeast Mississippi

ASHLAND, Miss. — North Mississippi Primary Health Care is expanding its footprint with a nearly $4.7 million construction project aimed at strengthening healthcare support services throughout Northeast Mississippi.

The community health provider has broken ground on a new 10,000-plus-square-foot Administration and Training Building at its main campus in Ashland. The project represents a $4.668 million investment and is designed to support the organization’s continued growth as it serves patients across multiple counties in the region.

The new facility will house key administrative departments, including Human Resources, Accounting and Finance, and Billing. Plans also call for a dedicated boardroom and expanded training space to enhance staff development and operational efficiency. Once complete, the building will allow NMPHC to add up to 30 administrative and support staff positions.

Campus improvements are also part of the project. Infrastructure upgrades will include drainage enhancements and frontage improvements along Boundary Drive, also known as Mississippi Highway 5. New curb and gutter systems and sidewalks will connect the organization’s Wellness Center to other areas of the growing campus.

In recent years, NMPHC has expanded its Ashland headquarters to approximately 25 acres. The campus currently includes more than 30,000 square feet of clinical, administrative, and service space supporting healthcare delivery throughout Northeast Mississippi.

Roberts Builders of Ripley was selected as the project’s contractor after submitting the lowest of four competitive bids.

Chief Executive Officer Bill Stone said the investment reflects the organization’s long-term commitment to both workforce development and patient care across the region.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027, positioning NMPHC for continued expansion of services in communities throughout Northeast Mississippi.
