Motown Legends The Spinners to Perform at Heindl Center
SENATOBIA, Miss. (Sept. 4, 2025) – The sounds of classic Motown will fill the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts this Friday as legendary R&B group The Spinners take the stage in Senatobia. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 5.
Known for a career that has stretched across six decades, The Spinners are celebrated for timeless hits including “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” “The Rubberband Man,” and “Working My Way Back to You.” Their smooth harmonies and signature “Philadelphia Soul” sound helped define an era in American music.
While all five original members—Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Pervis Jackson, Bobbie Smith and Philippe Wynne—have passed, the group continues to perform with successors dedicated to carrying on their legacy. Guided in the early years by producer Thom Bell, The Spinners’ unique blend of Motown and soul earned them a place among America’s most influential groups.
Dr. Blake Bostick, director of the Heindl Center, said audiences in North Mississippi are in for a special evening.
“The Spinners’ hit songs and smooth sound have made them one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history,” Bostick said. “With six Grammy nominations, 18 platinum and gold albums, more than 2.5 million records sold, and six No. 1 singles, their music continues to inspire generations. We are thrilled to welcome them to Senatobia.”
The Spinners were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, cementing their status as soul music icons.
