Man charged with murder in Alcorn State University shooting
LORMAN, Miss. – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has arrested a suspect in connection with the deadly shooting at Alcorn State University that occurred last week.
State officials announced Wednesday that Taevion Doss, 26, was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon on school property. The charges are related to a shooting incident on the university’s campus on Saturday, Oct. 11.
“I’m proud of the hard work and collaboration between the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and our local partners,” said Commissioner of Public Safety Sean Tindell in a prepared statement. “Together, we’re sending a clear message that senseless crime has no place in Mississippi.”
The MBI confirmed that the case remains an open investigation.
