Major drug bust leads to seizure of drugs, multiple arrests in Brookhaven

Eight Arrested, Large Drug Seizure in Brookhaven Following Multi-Agency Operation

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. – A major drug bust in Brookhaven on Sunday, June 8, resulted in eight arrests and the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs, cash, and a stolen firearm.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, as part of a long-term investigation into drug trafficking in the area, executed six search warrants with the help of several law enforcement partners. The operation led to the seizure of approximately 6,410 grams of powder cocaine, 2,292 grams of marijuana, 36 grams of crack cocaine, methamphetamine, Hydrocodone, Alprazolam, and THC edibles.

Agents also recovered $27,569 in cash, two vehicles, and a stolen handgun.

The operation was carried out with support from Homeland Security Investigations, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Brookhaven Police Department, and the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

“Because of their collaboration and dedication, dangerous drugs and criminals have been removed from our communities,” said Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. “This work helps keep our families and youth safer.”
