Projects getting the benefits of lottery funding include one affecting DeSoto County. The work is on state Highway 305 from state Highway 4 to the DeSoto County line in Tate County, continuing into DeSoto County to Lewisburg.
When the projects were announced in May, Northern District Transportation Commissioner John Caldwell of Nesbit was quoted as saying in a news release, “MDOT wants to keep these funds moving, the stream of money from the lottery is already working for Mississippians, by repaving and restoring some of our state’s neediest highways.”
The Lottery Commission also announced it would introduce four Holiday-themed scratch-off games this year scheduled to arrive at lottery retailers throughout the state starting Tuesday, Nov. 3.
“These games will feature eye-catching graphics with a festive feel at $1, $2, $5 and $10 price points,” said Shaheen. “They will make great holiday gifts for family, friends and coworkers 21 years or older.”
