Legislation ensuring voting integrity in state signed

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has announced the signing of House Bill 1510, legislation that strengthens the integrity of Mississippi elections by ensuring only American citizens can vote in the state’s elections.

House Bill 1510 takes the extra step of verifying voter registrations, thus offering greater accountability and bolstering trust in the effective operation of state elections.

The final conference report on this bill passed the House of Representatives on a 114-5 vote with all DeSoto County legislators voting in favor of it. The conference report passed the state Senate on a vote of 38-13 with all DeSoto County senators voting in the affirmative.

Governor Reeves announced the signing of the legislation in a video posted to his Facebook page.
