Hosemann campaign reports almost $3.4 million on hand

Republican Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann moved into the last 90 days of his primary campaign for re-election with almost $3.4 million in his coffer, the campaign report.

“We are grateful for the support we have received,” said Hosemann. “Mississippi voters want solutions, not just talk, and we have a significant record of running government like a business. The next three months will be devoted to spreading the message about our record and priorities over the next four years.”

Donations for this campaign finance period, which began January 1 and ended April 30, 2023, totaled $192,836.41.

Hosemann announced his re-election campaign for Lieutenant Governor in January with a three-day, 10-stop tour at businesses and other community venues in and around Jackson, the Gulf Coast, Hattiesburg, Meridian, Columbus, Tupelo, DeSoto County, Greenwood, Natchez, and Brookhaven. Since then, he has continued to travel the state to debrief the 2023 legislative session, visit Mississippi communities, and discuss priorities for the next four years with constituents.

As a steadfast conservative who spent most of his career as a businessman in the private sector, Hosemann previously served as Secretary of State. In this role, he overhauled the state’s business laws, raised more than $1 billion for public schools through 16th Section land reform, and implemented voter ID to secure Mississippi’s elections.

Other Republicans on the primary ballot are state Sen. Chris McDaniel, Shane Quick, and Tiffany Longino. D. Ryan Grover is the candidate on the Democratic side for Lt. Governor.

The primary election in Mississippi is Aug. 8. The general election is Nov. 7.
