Gipson adds communications manager

Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson announced a new staff member joining the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC). Allie Ware Jasper was named communications manager in the Market Development Division. In this position, Jasper serves as a liaison between MDAC and media representatives, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department’s social media and communication outlets

“I am proud to welcome Allie Ware Jasper as communications manager for the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce,” said Commissioner Gipson. “The skills, experience and broadcast journalism background that she brings to the department, makes her an invaluable asset to the agency.”

Jasper earned her B.S. in broadcast journalism at the University of Mississippi. She has spent 10 years reporting the news in Mississippi. The last seven years she spent as a morning news anchor for WAPT Channel 16 News. Jasper currently resides in Flowood with her husband, Brian Jasper, two sons, Hayes and Rowen, and their dog Della.
