Former Jackson County Inventory Control Director arrested for fraud
JACKSON, Miss. – Special Agents from the Office of the State Auditor have arrested Nancy Anglada, the former Inventory Control Director for Jackson County, on charges of embezzlement and fraud.
State Auditor Shad White announced the arrest Tuesday, alleging that Anglada exploited her position to secure fraudulent reimbursements and misuse public resources for personal gain.

Allegations of Fuel Theft and Falsified Records
According to investigators, Anglada allegedly used a county-owned Fuelman card to purchase gasoline for her personal vehicle on multiple occasions. In addition to the unauthorized fuel charges, Anglada is accused of submitting fraudulent documentation to Jackson County for training reimbursements, claiming she had paid for professional development sessions out of pocket when she had not.
“We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy for theft of taxpayer dollars,” State Auditor Shad White said in a statement. “Our office will continue to work with prosecutors to get record results for taxpayers.”
Potential Penalties and Legal Proceedings
If convicted, Anglada faces severe legal consequences, including:
- Up to 20 years in prison.
- Fines totaling up to $5,000.
All individuals arrested by the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The case will now move to prosecution, overseen by local authorities in coordination with the Auditor’s office.
