FBI seeks public’s help, launches website for digital tips in Leland mass shooting probe
LELAND, Miss. – The FBI has established a dedicated digital media tips website to collect videos and photos from the public as part of the ongoing investigation into the mass shooting that rocked Leland, Mississippi, over the weekend.
The shooting occurred at approximately midnight on Friday, October 11, at the intersection of Fourth Street and North Main Street. According to initial reports, the incident appears to have been sparked by a disagreement among several individuals.
The FBI Jackson Field Office is providing federal assistance to local law enforcement, which is leading the investigation. Authorities are working to identify all individuals involved and anticipate more arrests as the investigation continues.
The bureau is urging anyone with cellphone video, photos, or other multimedia recordings of the incident to upload the media to the official site: fbi.gov/lelandmshomecomingshooting. Tips and digital media can be submitted anonymously.
