Entergy Mississippi launches $1 Billion grid upgrade

JACKSON, Miss. (Sept. 24, 2025) – Entergy Mississippi is rolling out its largest-ever grid improvement project, a nearly $1 billion initiative called Superpower Mississippi aimed at cutting outages in half within five years.

The company announced an additional $300 million investment, made possible through revenues from large customers such as Amazon, at no extra cost to residential ratepayers.

“Superpower Mississippi will transform the power grid with better power at a lower cost,” said Entergy Mississippi CEO Haley Fisackerly.

Upgrades will include stronger poles, smart monitoring devices, and expanded tree-trimming to reduce weather- and vegetation-related outages. Entergy said work will begin immediately across its 45-county service area.

State regulators praised the project for strengthening reliability while keeping energy rates among the lowest in the nation.
