DeSoto County School Grades 2026: Every School’s Rating
The Mississippi Department of Education’s 2026 accountability results show how every public school in the DeSoto County school grades picture stacks up. Twelve DeSoto County Schools campuses earned an A, led by Lewisburg High School, whose 855 points ranked fourth among the state’s 231 graded high schools.
The school-level grades come from MDE’s 2026 accountability media file, released Oct. 15 along with district grades. DeSoto County Schools earned an A as a district, one of only 31 A districts in Mississippi this year. Our earlier story on the district’s grade is here.

Tougher Standards Statewide
This year’s grades are based on new, higher cut scores, and MDE has said the 2026 results cannot be compared with previous years. That shift shows up across the state. Statewide, 203 of 846 graded schools (about 24%) earned an A, down from 239 last year. Another 253 earned a B, 218 a C, 153 a D and 16 an F.
Among districts, the number of A districts dropped from 52 to 31, while D districts rose from 11 to 21. DeSoto County kept its A even under the stricter scale, with district-wide scores including 48.9% reading proficiency, 58.2% math proficiency and a 97.1% graduation rate.
How Parents Can See More
