Aug. 1, 2025 – Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch has announced the opening of the 2025 application period for the state’s Victims of Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation Fund, inviting service providers to apply for financial support.

“Working together, we can put an end to human trafficking in our state,” Fitch said in a statement. “Organizations that are helping human trafficking victims recover and heal are invited to apply.”

The fund, established by the Mississippi Legislature in 2020, provides financial assistance to direct service providers working with victims of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Applications will be accepted through the Office of the Attorney General and must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Aug. 28.

Since its creation, the fund has awarded $8.5 million in support of services for trafficking victims across the state. Funding is sourced through court assessments tied to certain criminal convictions, voluntary donations, and legislative appropriations.

A seven-member committee oversees the fund, with members appointed by key state leaders including the Attorney General, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Speaker of the House, and heads of the Department of Public Safety and Child Protection Services, along with a representative from a service provider organization.

For more information or to apply, service organizations can visit the Mississippi Attorney General’s website.
