Allegations of Assault at St. George’s Independent School

A search warrant executed in Olive Branch has identified a suspect and revealed new details about an alleged sexual assault at St. George’s Independent School in Collierville.

According to documents and investigators, Bryant Swing Jr., 18, is named as the suspect. The alleged victim, a girl under 18, told detectives with the Olive Branch Police Department that another student coerced her into meeting Swing in a back hallway of the school’s fieldhouse on October 8, sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

She reported that Swing pulled her into an unoccupied office, forced her to perform oral sex against her will, and attempted to remove her clothing. The victim also believed other students were standing outside the office acting as lookouts.

Investigators say the victim reported that Swing pulled out his phone and began setting timers, attempting to pressure her into performing the act for the length of time he set. When she was finally able to leave the office, she said she saw two males in the hallway clapping outside the coach’s office.

Surveillance Video and Evidence Collection

Detectives say surveillance footage shows the victim passively resisting Swing and shaking her head “no” before walking toward the office with him. The video also reportedly shows at least three other males near the office before and after the incident.

Investigators believe they have electronic evidence connected to what happened.

A search was later conducted at the Olive Branch home of Swing Jr. and his mother. Police say they were looking for pictures, videos, or other digital evidence related to the alleged assault.

According to an incident report, officers first went to the home to obtain a cell phone but were given the wrong device. The next day, officers returned with a search warrant.

During the search, police say they located:

  • Three iPhones
  • Two Motorola phones
  • One MacBook
  • One Lenovo laptop
  • An Apple Watch
  • A phone case

One of the iPhones appeared to have been intentionally damaged, with the front half pulled away from the back. Detectives also reported finding marijuana on top of a cabinet above the refrigerator.

Arrests and Current Charges

Swing Jr. was arrested in Olive Branch and charged with tampering with evidence. At this time, he has not been charged with sexual assault. Records indicate he was released on a $20,000 bond on Tuesday.

His mother, Nakesha Rockette, was also arrested and is facing charges of hindering the prosecution in the first degree, conspiracy to commit a felony, and accessory after the fact.

Swing’s father, Bryant Swing Sr., was booked into the DeSoto County Jail on unrelated drug charges.

Additional Allegations and Ongoing Investigations

Collierville Police previously stated that a second victim came forward on November 11, reporting a separate sexual assault that allegedly occurred on September 12. That case is also under active investigation.

Investigators say it appears both reported assaults are linked to the same suspect.

As of Wednesday, Collierville Police said two additional students at St. George’s Independent School are now being investigated in connection with the two reported sexual assaults on the school’s campus.

Statement From St. George’s Independent School

St. George’s Independent School released a statement to parents addressing safety and discipline measures on campus. Under the leadership of Chief Operations Officer Rodney Bright, school officials say they are conducting a comprehensive evaluation of discipline, safety, and security across their campuses.

The school says they are reviewing every part of the school day—from before-school hours to evening activities—and plan to make any necessary changes to staffing, scheduling, and procedures to ensure students are supported and safe.

Head of School Luke Pruett emphasized that students remain at the center of every decision and thanked families for their continued partnership and support as the school works to “build the best St. George’s yet.”

Community Reaction

The allegations have shaken many in the community, including current and former St. George’s families.

Former St. George’s parent Marie Pizano questioned what is happening in today’s culture and emphasized the need for parents and society to confront these issues directly, asking: What is going on with our kids? What is going on with society? What if this was your child?

Pizano also shared a message of support for the victim and their family, expressing that the community cares for them, loves them, and stands with them.

All individuals mentioned are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The victim’s identity is being withheld due to her age and the nature of the allegations.
