Northpoint Christian defeated Regents School of Oxford in high school volleyball Thursday night 3-0. Set scores for the match were 25-19, 25-19, 25-22.

As the scores noted, it wasn’t easy for the Lady Trojans against the Lions, but a team that may be starting to jell showed it was able to hold off a squad that made Northpoint earn every point.

Here’s a recap of Thursday’s match between Northpoint and Regents School.

Set 1: Northpoint 25, Regents 19

Four of the next five points went to Northpoint and Regents took a timeout, trailing 19-13 in the set. The Lady Trojans came out of the timeout to stretch the lead to 24-15 when Valerie Hurdle scored off a, Regents block attempt. Another Hurdle point off a block won the set for Northpoint 25-19.

Set 2: Northpoint 25, Regents 19

The set remained tight after that, with Regents forcing a Northpoint timeout at 18-16, but the lead never grew more than that until the very end. This would be the match point for Northpoint, winning the set 25-22.
