Thursday’s 3-0 volleyball victory by the Northpoint Christian Lady Trojans over Evangelical Christian came in convincing fashion on Manley Court on the NCS campus.  Northpoint came away with a 25-12, 25-14 and 25-14 win, which keeps the Lady Trojans unbeaten in district play with one match against Lausanne Collegiate remaining in the regular season.

The first set started with Val Hurdle serving a pair of aces in a six-point run before the Lady Eagles got on the board.  The Lady Trojans would score four more before ECS could answer again for a 10-2 lead.

The margin increased to 19-8 when ECS called a timeout, but a kill from Hurdle would end the set for a 25-12 win.

The Lady Trojans opened a 5-1 lead with ECS serving to start the second set and at 12-2 in favor of Northpoint, the Eagles would call a timeout.  ECS would rally to get within 15-8, but the Lady Trojans responded for a 20-10 edge and another Eagles timeout. Northpoint would go on to win the set 25-15.

Hurdle started serving the third set for the Lady Trojans and she once again staked Northpoint to a 7-0 lead. It would go on to 16-3 and then to 20-6 before the final 25-14 and the three-set victory.

For the match, Quinn Thurman had 10 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs. Hurdle had 6 kills, 5 aces, and 5 digs; Hassie Thurman made 14 digs and served 3 aces; Chrissy Nolan had 7 kills and 2 blocks; and Sarah Johnson made 19 assists and served 2 aces.

The Lady Trojans this weekend will be taking part in the Mid-South Classic, hosted by Lewisburg and DeSoto Central. Northpoint will also host the Lady Patriots in what should be a highly anticipated matchup Tuesday night at Northpoint.
