This will be Arkansas’ seventh trip to the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the most of any team in the Bowl’s history. The Razorbacks previously played in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in 1971, 1984, 1987, 2009, 2015 and 2022. In 2022, Arkansas was a triple-overtime thriller over Kansas 55-53.
Steve Ehrhart, Executive Director of the AutoZone Liberty Bowl:
“We’re thrilled to welcome back the Texas Tech Red Raiders from the Big 12 Conference. We’re impressed with the enthusiasm and excitement around the Texas Tech Football program created by head coach Joey McGuire and director of athletics Kirby Hocutt. The Red Raiders beat both teams that played in the Big 12 Championship Game, Arizona State and Iowa State. So, we know they have plenty of potential to win any game.”
“We’re excited to host the Arkansas Razorbacks and their great fans for a bowl record seventh time. Head coach Sam Pittman and director of athletics Hunter Yurachek have continued the Razorbacks’ proud tradition of creating energy and enthusiasm across the state of Arkansas. The Razorbacks defeated a CFP Playoff team, Tennessee, proving they too have the ability to win and compete at the highest level.”
