Spring break baseball, softball continues for county teams

Center Hill 7, St. Joseph Catholic 2
Note: Mustangs pounded out 12 hits and held St. Joseph Catholic to just two hits in the win. Avery Rodgers and Houston Green each scored twice, while Connor McCool and Deshann Hannah had three hits. McCool also drove in three runs for Center Hill. Mac Atkins struck out four in five innings pitched.
Lewisburg 13, Farragut, Tenn. 6
Note: Lewisburg scored seven times in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh inning for the victory. Sam Richardson scored twice for the Patriots and Trae Cagle had three hits. Both Richardson and Cagle homered in the win. Five Patriots contributed two RBIs each. Matt Magee was the winning pitcher in relief with two strikeouts in 1.2 innings pitched. Lewisburg improves to 10-1 for the season.
DeSoto Central 13, Westminster Christian Academy 0 (4 innings)
Note: DeSoto Central used a 9-run first inning in the victory. Aiden Steht threw a one-hitter and struck out five. Brian Smith scored three times and Caiden Bullard had four hits, including a pair of doubles.
DeSoto Central 9, Robertsdale, Ala. 7 (10 innings)
Note: Jaguars scored twice in the 10th inning to win the game. DeSoto Central scored three times in the sixth and twice more in the seventh. Robertsdale scored once in the seventh to force extra innings. Connor Simpson had three hits to lead the DeSoto Central offense and Jack Willis drove in three runs. Avery Hutson had one strikeout while pitching two innings in relief to win the game.
Prep softball
Brandon 2, DeSoto Central 1
Note: Lady Jags scored their only run in the fourth inning after Brandon had taken a 2-0 lead. Katelyn Short had two of DeSoto Central’s three hits in the loss and Mikayla Jamison drove in the lone run. Colby Young struck out four in six innings pitching in the circle.
Lewisburg 4, Soddy Daisy, Tenn. 2
Note: Lewisburg scored twice in the first inning and added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Soddy Daisy scored twice in the seventh. Bailee Davis had two hits and drove in two runs. Ella Abrams struck out six in pitching the complete game victory.
Lebanon 7, Lewisburg 6
Note: Lebanon scored five times in the fourth inning to take the victory, winning despite only three hits and Lewisburg collecting 13 hits in the Lady Patriots loss. Kara Walker led the Lewisburg offense with three hits. Anna Etter had two hits and drove in three runs. Leah Walker took the loss in relief, giving up five runs (three earned runs) in 3.1 innings pitched. Walker struck out four but also walked four.
