HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Rust College women’s basketball standout Patsy Johnson has been named the HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week following a dominant stretch on the court.
The conference announced the selection for the week of Nov. 17–23, highlighting Johnson’s role in powering the Bearcats to a pair of victories.
Johnson proved electric on the floor, scoring a combined 49 points across two games. She shot over 52 percent from the field, connecting on nine 3-pointers while also distributing the ball effectively with nine assists.
Her offensive efficiency was the catalyst for a perfect week for Rust College. Johnson led the charge in a tight 88-83 victory over Wilberforce University and helped the Bearcats cruise to a commanding 78-22 win over Crowley’s Ridge College.
“Patsy is playing with tremendous confidence, and it’s showing in every part of her game,” said Rust College Head Coach Jaleesa Sams. “Her leadership and consistency are driving our team forward, and we’re extremely proud of the work she’s putting in.”
