Rangers’ Wolfe named MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week
SENATOBIA, Miss. – Following a career-best performance in Northwest Mississippi Community College’s dominant 51-0 shutout against Mississippi Delta Community College, kicker Hayden Wolfe has been named the MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week.
This honor marks the second consecutive week that a player from the Rangers’ football program has received a weekly award from the MACCC.
Wolfe was a critical component in the Rangers’ victory on Thursday night, accounting for 15 of the team’s 51 points. He was perfect in his attempts, going 6-for-6 on point-after-touchdowns (PATs) and 3-for-3 on field goals. His longest made field goal of the game was a 37-yarder, marking the fifth-longest successful kick of his season.
In addition to his scoring, Wolfe was a strategic weapon on kickoffs. His first three kicks of the game sailed into the endzone for touchbacks. His fourth kickoff effectively pinned the opposition, resulting in Mississippi Delta starting their drive at their own two-yard line.
The performance further solidifies Wolfe’s status as the Rangers’ leading scorer for the season. He has accumulated 58 total points and is now 31-for-32 on PATs for the year.
