Northwest volleyball defeats Jones for 13th straight win
ELLISVILLE, Miss. — Northwest Mississippi Community College volleyball extended its winning streak to 13 matches Monday night, handing previously unbeaten Jones College its first loss of the season in a 3-1 road victory.
The Rangers (16-2, 7-0 MACCC) won by set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 25-18. Chloe Fesperman and Ariana Woods led the balanced attack with double-digit kills, while Avin Mathis added nine kills and four aces.
Coach Allison Burchyett praised her team’s composure. “Keys for success continue to be our balanced offense, tough defense, and aggressive serving,” she said.
Northwest will host Pearl River (12-6, 6-1) on Wednesday at Howard Coliseum. First serve is set for 5 p.m., with live coverage on RangerTV.
