Northwest student-athletes named to Fall 2023 President’s, VP lists

Another academic record has been shattered this semester, as 146 Northwest Mississippi Community College student-athletes were named to the college’s President’s or Vice President’s lists.

Since posting 106 student-athletes to the President’s and Vice President’s lists for the Fall 2021 semester, Northwest has had 100-plus student-athletes make both lists in four of the last five semesters. This semester’s total shatters the previous record of 119 selections, which was set last fall.

Additionally, 100 of the 146 student-athletes listed below made the President’s List, which is awarded to students completing 12 or more semester hours with a grade point average of 3.75 or better. To be eligible for the Vice President’s List, recipients must finish the semester with a GPA between 3.50 and 3.74.

Last week, Northwest set a new record for Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selections, with 175 student-athletes earning nods to that list. Both records come as a feather in the cap for athletic academic advisors Charlesy Kennedy and Tori Fugatt, who have now both completed their first semesters on the Northwest staff.
